Writing a project statement for exhibition submission

Oula

Voice of a Goddess Giant
I'm about to submit some images for an exhibition and am totally stuck on writing the project statement. I have done this type of thing before, but this time it's different.

These images are part of a project I've been working on since 2016 that is very personal (the most personal project I've done - in fact possibly the first truly personal project I've done). I completely know what it is about in terms of feeling and my personal connection to it but am having real trouble putting it in to words. This is not an issue I usually have, it's just due to the nature of the project.

Has anyone had a similar issue? Anyone have any tips on getting something that is inside you out into some words that will make sense to other people?

Obviously there is a reason that I'm using photographs to say these things in the first place rather than words!

I don't know how much explanation to give. The form says this:
"
Project Statement*
Please tell us a little about your images (max 1500 characters)."
