Worst cover version in world...

amazing remix of p.diddys i'll be missing you

I sent this link to my friend from Budapest. This is an excerpt from his reply to my email.

"First i was not sure whether this is a media hack. but actually it isnt. i was very much surprised to see takács tamás in the video who is a renowned blues musician who is in the music scene for more than 20 years. another one of the background singers is a guy who participated in one of these casting/talent/popstarmaking shows on tv. i dont know the other guys and i definitely dont want to meet the bald guy on the street on a dark budapest night.

there is no explanation for something like this. no idea who are behind that and no idea who payed the rental cost for the porsche."

:eek::D

mega!
:D

Yonder Fall Out Boy tries his best with "Love will tear us apart", then the vocal gymnastics start and it all goes awry.

Squeaky clean grinfaced wankwads Blink 182 transform one of the greatest tunes ever into the aural equivalent of cleaning out a dead pensioner's fridge.

Didn't Duran Duran cover 'White Lines'? (IIRC)

No. No. No. No. No.

Bad. Idea.

Yes, yes they did. :D

Now, Duran Duran is my favourite band (okay you can mock me later) but even I find their cover album a little too hard to swallow. Although that doesn't stop me from owning it. Their version of '911 is a joke' by Public Enemy has got to be the most cringe-worthy moment on that album

However their worst cover happens to be Thank You by Led Zeppelin, not because it's done badly, it's just Simon Le Bon singing karaoke, but because it's JUST NOT RIGHT!

Duran Duran... they actually covered PE's "911 Is A Joke"????

:(

I am now officially lost for words.

Scissor Sisters''Comfortably Numb', not just that it was fucking horrible, but outside of 'The Love I Lost' it's got the most inappropriate lyrics-to-music moods ever.

Does that pile of shite by Kid Rock blabbered over Lynyrd Skynyrd's "Sweet Home Alabama" with lashings of Warren Zevon's "Werewolves of London" thrown in count?

* cue much grave spinning.

Oh.

My.

God.

I've just been downloading some classical music and I've seen this.

Ave Maria, covered by Celine Dion.

Sacrilege, just sacrilege.

This, in all it's blasphemous and utterly revolting wrongness:

Just heard some god awful version of Nothing Compares 2 U.
Dunno who, some pissy little greenday/good charlottle indie wannabee tossers - you know, the sort of crap they play on xfm all day - Cod reggeeish verse with a speedy guitary chorus.
Fucks sake.

Not sure if this one is bad enough but I'll put it down just to see how it goes.

Starts off with amazing lead vocals, then to the keyboard player who seems to be very serious about being provocative (provocatively poor?) and the backup vocals when they kick in it's over for me I have to watch it again.

I WIN!

WITH THIS!

AND YOU'LL HAVE TO CLICK ON IT TO SEE WHAT IT IS,

MOOHAHAHAHAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!

Surely, nobody can top this effort as it's an even worse version than the original.

I've said it before but The Who doing Allen Toussaint/Benny Spellman's 'Fortune Teller' sticks in my mind as the worst mainstream cover I've ever heard. Completely out of sync with everything good about it.

As always, a load of Who fans will turn up and say how good it is in a moment, but these are people that would tell you how good it was if Pete Townshend shat in a waste paper bin and gave it to them as a hat.

not sure he's actually allowed to do that under the terms of his register conditions etc

I understand that it later turned out to be a legally permitted shit in a bin, and not as was originally claimed, an underage one. But I don't know. I do know it's an awful cover.
