World upside down

I started the thread to further my knowledge of the inside out world theory. But that got knock on the head & it turns out the world has a solid liquid core and the universe is expanding really fast & it all started with a big bang.

My faith in humanity is all the proof I need.

That's wonderful and everything, but the problem isn't humanity in general, but with crappy education systems that fails to turn curious youths into skeptical adults. Instead they get taught how to pass tests, or if they're really unlucky they get fed a bunch of creationist bullshit. Plenty of people manage to become relatively informed citizens in spite of that, but too many end up falling through the cracks.

Personally I don't have any faith in humanity, although I also strongly disagree with the notion, common in religious circles, that humans are inherently depraved beings that need salvation. I believe that humans are ultimately products of their environment.

Which is why I blame the education system. It's good enough at teaching people how to read and write, but it fails to consistently instill critical thinking skills. Not surprising considering how inconvenient that would be for a lot of powerful and wealthy people.
