Women's World Cup 2019

Jonathan Pearce rightfully getting a right shoeing on Twitter
I can't quite articulate what I dislike about him, but dislike him I do. Seems to be a bit self-important, for one.

Anyway, watched the game on spotty WiFi on a train back from Birmingham. Good to be through, but still playing quite sloppily in parts and "will be punished by better teams". Made more frustrating by the fact that we can play it around the park really nicely at times.

Watched the second half and I thought England were very poor. But the game had gone out of control by then. tbf I thought the offside on the Cameroon goal was pretty rough. It was a shoelace if it was anything. They seem to be pretending a bit more precision than they actually have - is that freeze frame really the exact moment the ball left the foot of the passer? Offside shouldn't be measured in millimetres imo - it can't, the technology isn't that good. Pre-VAR, I reckon everyone would have said that was level.

The problem with that goal was also the previous decision with England, which was a close and slightly contentious call, but given.
