Windows 11 & Display Port connections - OS displays but won't detect the second monitor

Old PC - two HDMI leads, everything works just fine.
Fancy new PC: Two monitors linked by daisy chained new fangled Display Port technology = much frustration.

At the moment, both monitors are showing the same screen and there's no way to turn them into one big display.

Going into the Display settings and clicking 'detect other display' just brings up a 'we didn't find another display.'
Any ideas, anyone?

Take another visual output not hdmi and see if each can see two visual outs
I'm not quite getting your drift.

The old PC has two HDMI outs and they work perfectly.
The new PC has just one Display Port out which is then daisy chained to the two monitors, There is no option to use any other connector.

I had to turn on Display port 1.2 in monitor settings on the monitor that was in the middle also check your display port cables are 1.2 or higher (only way I know is on the order details) also what resolution are the 2 monitors?
