Help why can't i edit photos in Windows photos but i can in Paint?

got new camera , it uploads to SD drive , when i try to edit photo in windows photos it comes up not supported by this interface or something
yet it lets me go into PAINT
is there a crop feature on Paint as that is mainly what i use windows photos for

Ifanview is a good little tool for doing this sort of thing. It's really old now, but tiny and one of the first things I install on a PC. It's also great for resizing photos if you are uploading them to the net.

IrfanView might be "old", but it's still being updated. It's available in 64bit now.
