What's for tea tonight? (#8)

Due to late lunch I snacked on salted lentil pop chips , paprika Cheetos , pickled onions & 1 samosa. Samosa was from Sainsbury’s with a beetroot pasty which I thoroughly recommend.

End of a very testing week for various reasons so want a decent dinner later. Budget is very tight but despite that I am considering a takeaway / delivery :hmm: depends what is available.

Mexican
Curry
Kebab

I think out of those, curry often offers the best value for money - get a few dishes to share and make it last 2 nights - many dishes are fine to go in the fridge and be reheated and often improve as a result. (Be cautious about reheating rice though :D )

Something with chicken, it was going to be a Brazilian coconut curry but most of what I needed was missing from the click and collect.
Possibly stuffed chicken and roasted veg.

So annoying when that happens Looby . They missed off all my xmas veg.

I made a stonking veggie bolognese last night. Tonight is either pizza or spicy wedges and mozzarella cheeseburgers. Tiramisu and blueberries for afters.

Was that coconut milk by any chance? Seems to be a massive shortage round here!

Pulled pork. it's already been in a low oven for 4 hours. I'll probably give it another couple of hours.
Smoked paprika wedges and coleslaw to go with it.

The smoked paprika (also featuring heavily in the pulled pork) is some I bought last year from a smokehouse in Anglesey. I've been looking forward to trying it. It smells divine and will hopefully taste as good.

Early tea (bit too late to be a late lunch, which is what was intended but it took me a while to prep the leeks) of leek and potato soup, garlic bread leftovers (made last night with a fresh ciabatta), and a nice bit of sourdough bread with butter too.

Late tea will probably be a fry up in a couple of hours: pork/quorn sausages, bacon/facon, fried eggs. fried mushrooms, spaghetti hoops (if we have any), and more of the sourdough bread with butter.

Decided on paella in the end. I don’t have any lovely bread to go with it so it’ll have to be some Paul Hollywood part baked rolls. 😄

I bloody love paprika, I can smell it through the house right now. 😊
