West end sunday lunch

telbert

Do you like sponge?
We're of to see the Jersey Boys musical at the Trafalgar Theatre in a couple of weeks and i was going to book a table at Simpsons in the Strand for sunday lunch, but was gutted to find that they are now closed. Can anyone recommend a really decent alternative that's not a million miles away from the theatre please.
TIA

That looks amazing, and the prices for 2 or 3 courses set lunch are really quite reasonable.
Making a note for future reference!
I've been eyeing this up for a while. The regular menu is pricey, but I've been there with a deal before and the food is fantastic. Straight-up traditional French cooking and they don't spare the butter. It's also a very nice, spacious place with unfussy service.

So now lunch is sorted at Hawksmoor on Air St, im looking for somewhere to watch the Lioness's first. Just a decent pub, in the same area. Any suggestions please?

Kings Sports Bar at The Empire Casino, on Leicester Sq - it's not what you would call a decent pub but it will be packed and on fire for the final.

I've watched a cpl of games in the Leicester Arms which is on Glasshouse St so not far from where you are.

If you don't mind a bit of a walk then the Freemasons Arms on Long Acre is a decent place for a game.

That's if any of them are open.

We could have had a better result with the football but the the lunch at the Hawksmoor & then the show more than made up for it. Ive rarely had a better roast dinner in town & the Bloody Mary's were addictive. Thanks for the rec's.
