Netenyahu, Trump, Putin, May. All trying out-compete each other in the testosterone stakes.

All those wishing it was 2017 already and that 2016 was over (dead celebs and a couple of popular votes) may well regret what they wished for.

I shall now return to the bottle of Port Santa brought me.

Merry Christmas everyone.

I'm with you on this. My son asked me when WW3 will start, I told him it already has.

Happy Christmas folks.

Hard to see what is the best bit of this is; I am torn between the criticism of this motion about the Israelis breaking international law as being "anti-Israel" - as if it could be anything else - or if not that then the report today that various ambassadors have been summoned home over the holidays for a dressing down, as if this is all their fault.

Bad news for us Welsh, coming as we do from a hilly and rugby-obsessed nation largely populated by sheep - the world's most accurate military could easily confuse us for New Zealand.

Isreal has fuck all ablity to hurt new zealand or wales its good at beating up arab militarys that are notorious for being rubbish no matter how much kit they buy.

New Zealands main defence is being in the middle of nowhere most countrys can even get warships in range of New Zealand let alone find it or care:D

I really don't get the Security Council concept. The veto thing is bonkers - how anything ever gets passed I don't know. Good on NZ though even if it does mean Israel unveil their secret new missiles that can hit the arse end of the earth.

Yep. The Japanese almost made it there during WW2 then couldn't give a shit other than sending a couple of submarines. They have the excellent position of basically being the heckler in the back row of a comedy gig.

its working as designed the veto allows the big boys to avoid war which was the whole point

its simple the security council is made up of the country's that can actually enforce stuff and get a veto because you dont want them going home in a huff.
not all countries are equal US Russia China France and the UK still have world wide military capability and strategic nuclear weapons.

for example all of Latin america could demand the falklands are handed over the UK can veto that because we can defeat all the above country's as we have trident .
similar china cant be forced out of Tibet or being a dick in the south china sea
Russia out of Ukraine
Us from being a dick anywhere.

international law is not equal its only enforced by military strength the big 5 have the ultimate force and before you whine about France and the UK they represent the EU which is equal to the US and dwarfs Russia

BBC News is so shit. They were showing Kerry's speech live but then stopped for the weather, now they're back they went to a bit about a bloke who lost 5 stone which has been on about half a dozen times today and now they're discussing the speech even though it's still ongoing. What's the point in having a 24 hours rolling news channel if you aren't even going to show what is actually happening now? I'm sure I'm not the only person who would prefer to see the speech rather than the analysis of someone who hasn't even watched all of it

I'm sure I'm not the only person who would prefer to see the speech rather than the analysis of someone who hasn't even watched all of it
The RT page on facebook has a live feed.
