Ultimate camping/festival chair?

ringo

Macaroni cheese controller
Whats the best chair? Has to fold flat toi fit in a car with camping gear.

These fishing chairs look good, but at £79.99 iyt had better last much longer than those crappy ones you can get fot £10-20

one without arms. The design always, necessarily, puts all the strain of the sitter levering themselves up onto the two joints that support the arms. Wander round Glastonbury on the monday after and observe with interest that 90% of broken chairs have given way in exactly that place. get one without arms, stand up without using the arms as a lever, and the chair will last a lot longer.

I think I spent about £4.99 on mine, it's lasted about 4 years so far and is still going strong: that's 4 Glastonburys and maybe another 20 or so nights per year camping. From Decathalon.

IME The fishing chairs are great for uneven ground as the legs are all adjustable.
But if you need arms they start around fifty quid. Without arms Argos do a carp chair for thirty quid.
Gelert do a budget range of camping chairs that are pretty tough and cheap enough to replace.
Vango do an inflatable chair with arms and cup holder for thirty quid. That packs down fairly small. Very comfy, though likely to blow away in a strong breeze. They also do a two seat inflatable sofa!

I know its not the type of chair you are looking for but it gives me a chance to show off my brothers invention , I have used it for loads of festies , no good in the rain for obvious reasons but it is perfect for dry weather and fits in a small bag . We still have about 2000 of them gathering dust

We've just replaced 2 of our crappy £10 ones (with arms and drink holders) after 7 years, two kids, very regular camping and lots of abuse. I'm amazed at how long they last!

I found that it doesn't pay to take decent chairs to a festival. They always get co-opted and moved around by others so much that I've lost more chairs than I've taken home.
