twinkle brothers & big youth (next Sunday electric brixton) anyone going?

bimble

floofy
I think I need to go to this, but will probably be on my tod because don't actually know anyone else who is aware of the fact that they need to go see the twinkle brothers whilst they have a chance.
Anyone else here planning to go to this?

Only 30 mins per artist. Rushed on, rushed off, all apologetic. Loved what we got to see and hear, but everything around it was organised like shit. The place was open for 4 hours and I got 90 mins from the acts I paid for. poor.

That is fucking poor. what excuse did they give for such short performances?

It was just a free for all on stage.....one band came on set up and it was the wrong band, so they took it all away and set up the correct band...meanwhile loads of 'local talent' was forced upon us to endure....killing the whole vibe between acts....so it never got going all night.

It’s true it was a bit of a shambles, lots of time spent moving stuff and people on and off the stage and not enough twinkle brothers imo. Crap sound quality upstairs as well but it was either that or the too packed downstairs, weird they don’t bother to put any speakers upstairs at all.

It’s also a bit of a bittersweet thing sometimes, when yr favourite artists are properly old men and sometimes they’re magnificent and sometimes they aren’t quite what they were because you know they’re 80 years old so its tinged with a bit of melancholy.
But I did see the biggest spliff I’ve ever seen in my whole long life, being smoked with great conviction inside the auditorium, so that was good.
