Town and village signs.

I like French signs, they tell you when you arrive and when you leave .... seems neat and logical to me!
They also serve as speed limit markers. At the town name sign the limit drops to 50km/h. When you get to the name with the line through it you can speed up again.

I always cringe when I see this

I have that on a tea towel :D

Personally I like all the hand made by the local primary school signs in villages, always reminding you to drive slowly and carefully through their village. Whilst the locals hammer around the village at high speed on their way home from a heavy night at the pub.

Pretty much all places villages, towns etc have name signs up telling you when you're entering.
Not all have leaving but you know when you enter another place that you've left the last one.

This thread made me laugh. I've seen one before telling motorists "Beware of children". It always makes me chuckle to think of a motorist seeing an innocent child and driving outta the place at 200mph screaming "AAAGGGHHH, CHILDREN!"
I feel that way about "baby on board" signs - I was already being careful but that just about sends me over the edge....

I should get one of those signs. It's probably more effective than a "beware of the dog" sign. Especially if you've encountered my children previously.

I reckon Fucking changed their name just for all the tourists who come there to gurn in front of the sign.

My favourite ones of those is Bell End Farm in north Yorks.

Oh, and a special mention for this place:

It indicates a nature site. Wetlands/heathlands by the look of the landscape markers

And if I'm not mistaken, that's a big bomb dump on the left of it! :D

eta - just Google Earthed it - its the old bomb store for RAF Woodbridge and if I'm not mistaken, there is an old cruise missile bunker at the top of the site! :)
Ooh, I think I've parked in that car park and walked out by Red Lodge. If I'd known the cottage was there I'd have taken the camera to find the sign :)

Probably lowland sandling Heath rather than wetland if it's where I think it is.

This isn't in the UK, but it's always worth posting when this subject comes up. And this is 100% real!

The best thing about this photo is the guy in the background either pretending he doesn't know her, or letting her just get on with it with resignation.
