Ok, so there's £20,000, of whihc £15k is from local authorities contributing to LBG (as was)...so there may be some money but I was enraged with this "our taxes for black nazis" shite. The purpose of OBV is to try to build engagement with the black community with the political process in this country - "In addition, overcoming steoroetypical attitudes and institutionalised racism within the dominant cultural and political establishment will require a new willingness to communicate and co-operate from both Black and White.

Our comprehensive programme includes political education, participation and representation; our goal is for a fair, just and inclusive democracy, one that allows our creativity, energy and talent to fulfil it's potential and enhance British society. "

The latent racism that is creeping onto these boards is making me fearful of attitudes of some people.

I think the story is badly written and invites unfortunate comparisons as per OP's inflammatory re-writing of the story. I am sure however that OBV aren't racists and are just genuinely trying to represent the interests of black candidates and constituents.
