The Shooting Of Thomas Hurndall

rollinder

Dont walk away in silence
on Channel 4 yesterday http://www.channel4.com/health/microsites/T/thomas-hurndall/index.html
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hakuna_Matata_(song)
missed the first hour, no idea it was on, caught a fragment with subtitles - flicking channels with the sound off, turned the sound on to se wtf it was - instantly hooked. Need to download the whole thing to watch it again properly.

Maybe I'm easily manipulated but found it devirsating :(
the 'shooter' was just as much a victem as he was.

the almost ending was probable dramatic invention - him finally dying alone, back home just after his mum had finally said the words she'd failed to when he'd left

just me that watched it then?

sidenote from exploring the ch4 links - why has his mum's book been rebranded as a 'my child's tragedy' 'women's misery lit' book?

I watched it on 4OD today, quite impressed in terms of the current standard of shite churned out. Kerry Fox always good. Did make me wonder what the outcome would have been if his dad was not a lawyer though. Im a big fan of Greg Philo and his studies in this area in terms of the limited knowledge the general public have of what is going on there so anything that shows a bit of that is good news in my book.

I noticed that, when it was on, the BBC 10pm news did a one-off unsubstantiated article about Palestinian women becoming suicide bombers.
