Not quite worthy of a thread of it's own, but I really couldn't see where to put it.
Now that sensor tech is getting more and more light sensitive (there was a realisation a while back that some of Sony's sensor tech designed for security cameras was actually high-quality enough for cinema applications) it's possible to film beyond the realms of human sight, and without using infra-red.
