i don't know if i'm going with you, or whether i can go with whoever wunmunkee is going with? or whether we're getting the train?

Stig.. where's your hippy bus?

You're being a bit previous I'm afraid .... the test needs to be passed first!

We'll be shopping around come winter/spring, no earlier ...

So Stig and I will be on the market for a lift from the stattion on Saturday :)

<edit to add : Stig's just told me that we may very well have a lift lined up anyway. Will confirm one way or the other soon!>

Looking forward to this. Hope it stays dry and warm ...

Important Information

I have just spoken to one of the organisers and though the party is going ahead, it's not quite how I envisaged it.

There will be no sound system and no DJs. All the music will come from live acoustic bands. There will also be bonfire's, a barbeque and (hopefully) an offshore cocktail bar. There will be plenty of space for people to camp on the beach if they want.

To be honest, I'm disappointed about the sound system, and expect a number of people won't be interested now. But I'm still up for it and am sure it will be a top night.

The other thing is that this place is pretty remote. It's over a mile from the nearest road and you have to climb a steep hill and do some clambering to get there. Not advisable for anyone who's not physically fit. It is also very hard to get to in the dark, daylight arrival recomended. The plus side is that we should have the beach to ourselves and are unlikely to get any hassle.

Who's still up for it?

when you say live acoustic bands...
edit to add: ah fuck it. as long as i have pills, i don't care.
i would imagine certainly getting there during the day... catch some rays (hope my over tanned skin is a little less itchy by then  ), and leaving when it gets light again.

No Robbie or Justin then  :( :D

I know nothing about these bands, will try and find out more. Hopefully they won't be like the Cromer Smugglers!

Yes seriously, if it involves drippy hippies, banjos, fiddles and blokes with straw hats I want to know.

aw.. it would've been nice to have electronic beats but as long as there's music and moonlight... :)

I will still be there!

the recent pirate party coped quite well with just a few portable radios all tuned to the same channel.. have they considered something similar?

pinkychukkles has a little unit that you attach to a normal DJ mixer that transmits on FM a very short distance so you can set up decks and a mixer and people can take radios and pick it up. get it at Radio Shack i think.. we're planning to use it in London later in the summer

we could do an urban rendition of 'singing in the rain' followed by 'raindrops are falling on my head'

we could ask Hollis up to do some air guitar if he's not too busy doing a guest appearance at a motorhead gig

Fuck, almost missed this thread!

This sounds pretty decent, I'd love to come along. Are many people getting the train down there? Or is there a lift going spare?

blimey.. could we not off-road it, my van doesn't mind a bump or two?
This place is only accessible by foot or by boat. I think if you've made a real effort to get somewhere, you're more determined to to have a good time.

That sounds cool, I shall mention it to the organisers.
