The Beach is Back!

Ooh! I'd love to come to this if I'm about :)

Sus had a really nice story about you, Maggot, when I interviewed him at the end of Unsound in Italy for u75r, and it all started at this beach party of yours last year....

well, maggot says it's a couple of miles down the coast from where it was last year, but last year got a train and took a nice evening stroll (under an hour, post-pub ;) ) to get there, if that's any help :)
Not sure about public transport, to this place. If there are buses they are likely to be infrequent. I think a train to the nearest town and a taxi would be your best bet.

Mation: most of my encounters with sus are on the beach. I originally found him by following his dogs.

I want to come to this, prolly by public transport too I'd love a lift but dont know anyone well enough to ask

Ditto.

But it's so far away that I have no idea if I am doing something or not anyway at the moment.

I am up for this, if i don't get eaten by a bear before July :D

Cool - an American contingent!

Although by the sounds of your backyard, I'm not confident you'll still be in one piece then :D .....

Cheers for that.. The possibility of walking for more than an hour back in the morning kind of puts me off :D

Well.. we could do a lift service from the train station.. If it's only a couple of miles or so I don't mind going backwards and forwards a couple of times

tbh, i think the walk back was about an hour, it was like the retreat from moscow, lots of fresh-looking people looking at us with a knowing grin :D

That knowing grin.. I know it well :D

I'll be along with Fosbury Flob (not registered). Which train station is it? Can someone PM me... :)

That's jolly decent of you. It's about 4 miles from the main station, although there's a little station slightly nearer.

Just found out it starts in the afternoon, with a more child-friendly vibe. I can't make it until the evening though.

Think I remember you from Hampstead Heath sometime last year in the summer? That or it was someone else...

And I'm a maybe... I need to check when I'm off to Manchester (clashes with either this or Ashton Court)... but I might well be free for this. So I'm quite literally 50-50 (for this and Ashton Court).

We've checked our dates and we're definitely up for this -- it's the weekend between Ashton Court and WOMAD, so the w/e of the 23/24 is appealingly blank right now, ideal!!

I reckon we'd want to get a train to the nearest place, but citydream's offer of a lift from the station sounds nice :)

I can thoroughly, thoroughly recommend 'Stig's favourite pub' ;) -- it's wonderful. Be aware though that there's no food at this pub other than crisps etc. (mind you beer is food and the beer is wonderful, as is the local cider!). Also I think the pub closes after 3 o clock on Sundays

Oh well early pub closure will make partied out Urbanites get a train back at a halfway sensible time ...

And there'd be a pub near London Bridge or Victoria ( ) anyway! :D

The pub is open 12-3 and 7-11 on sundays. We'll have to get there at noon sharp to get a decent three hours of drinking time in. My favourite pub in the whole world!! :D :D :D

Well if krs is going i want to go too! twas great last time - a lift would be nice if possible and can stump up some moolah for petrol/minibus/juggernaught hire too :)

Perhaps if there are several people planning to go by train we could arrange a meet of some kind and hire a cab/minibus at the other end if its too diffcult to get to from the train station?
