Woke up when Lyon came in. iPlayer Radio App on the phone, plugged in the headphones so as not to wake up wifey. Lie in with the excellent TMS. (Tuffers is fine)
Looks like Smithy played a proper captains innings backed up by Cummings.
Jimmy looked a bit crook.
Lots of menace from the Aussie bowlers. Great test match. Tomorrow will be a great test of English character.
 
Did well at the end there to hang on.

This has become a cracking test match. Awesome atmosphere at the closing session last night. It's sparking patriotism in me. Nothing in sport really matters. But beating Australia at cricket - that does matter! The game that is no game. COME ON ROOT

I think England need to score 230 minimum to have a chance. And I don’t fancy their chances of getting there. Smith’s innings was a killer. Root needs to follow suit.

And Cook out hooking in the third over? Has the world gone mad?
 
bit of history repeating itself with Broad not walking... but this time I don't think anyone would blame him. Only the wicketkeeper and the third umpire seemed to know
 
Id rather it be history he repeat with the ball and run through them again like that glorious morning at Trent Bridge
 
All good stuff. Think it looked like Anderson apologised again after the next ball and I also liked how Warner was first up to check Root was OK after he got hit on the head. Seems to be a good balance of respect and cricketing aggression so far
 
Well probably made it to fifth day, but poor stuff today.

I've never thought 5-0 was likely, and I still don't, but today showed why it's not a crazy prediction. England lose here, lose a close match at Adelaide, hardly likely to make a comeback at Perth they're then 3-0 down and just collapse for the last two games. It'll be poor if they do but not impossible.
 
I fell asleep with the headphones in when England were 4 wickets down, captain Root was still there sounded comfortable. Woke up a few hours later and...wait...what? Warner and Bancroft batting already? wtf happened?
Last rites tomorrow morning.

It’s far from impossible but at the end of the day they’ve won at a ground they haven't lost at in 30 years. Poor final day from England but it's probably what the third best team in the world should do. England should have shown more fight but that's cricket sometimes.

Pissed off with Cook.
