After the two and a bit matches that's been played what's been highlighted is the fragilities of both teams. There's somequality in both teams but neither seem to be able to get any consistency, in both cases the foundations are a bit dodgy.
The loss of Ryan Harris has weakened Australia's bowling attack not just because he was an excellent bowler but also because he provided some bedrock for the rest of bowlers to build on. Hazelwood looks very talented but it's expecting a lot to expect a youngster to do such a job.
Likewise with the batting, Australia have some dangerous players - Warner, Smith - but with Clarke so out of form the only man who you really feel can play that foundation role is Rogers. The Australian selectors must be trying to think of how they can persuade him to stay on because without him the Australian batting looks like one a lot of bowlers would fancy a chance against, Smith not-withstanding.
