It's a gorgeous looking pub. Did it close before?

Here's the guff:
Railway Tavern is Bromley’s soon-to-be-launched Antic Collective pub. Situated on the corner of East Street, Railway Tavern is set to be a charming and beautiful Victorian freehouse, focussed on friendly service, quality beer and honest food.
The pub will offer a fantastic mix of real ale, cider, bottled beers and exciting specialties, featuring as many local drinks as possible.
The kitchen, which will open shortly after the bar, will serve unfussy pub food with a seasonal menu focusing on the best local, British fare.
Railway Tavern will retain its Victorian décor, with vintage wallpapers, original features and exposed brick walls.
Once launched, the newest Antic pub is going to be a friendly local and a proud part of the Bromley community.
Opens this Thursday.

They seem to have pulled out of the one in Sydenham and who knows what's happening with the This That and The Other shop in W. Norwood.

Very speculative bunch it seems..

Glad it's re-opening, but they don't mention live music which was one of it's strong points before. They used to have bands playing every weekend.

A guy I know posted this on the "Knowles of Norwood" FB page (the one that's supposed to be opening up in the This That and the Other shop)

"I've been pestering Antic on Twitter. They have said this afternoon re: Knowles of Norwood opening "Can't really say for sure but hoping before Nov.""

Went on the opening night, and it wasn't finished! Plus points, liked the decor, and they had some good ales in. Minus points, the toilets weren't ready (we had to use the ones in O'Neills) and they briefly ran out of pint glasses.

So glad the Lost Railway Children have somewhere to go now.

They certainly have a "formula", in the same way JDW does. But the difference is that it's an appealing formula. Part of me hates the clinical way they go about it, but the fact is that most of their pubs are nice places to drink in so it's hard to find too much fault. I think their intent is usually to sell on after turning the place around. But again, who's going to fault them for turning a neglected pub around - even if it is for profit? They took a place in Wallington that I was dead certain could never, ever be a half decent pub and proved me wrong. Much to the benefit of the area.

Yeah, same in Tooting. The Wheatsheaf was an utterly shit pub that only about 3 people used. Now it's thriving.

they even let Channel One in there

there were some odd things stuck to the wall there too

No, that's at the other end of the High Street. Channel One eh? I'll have to keep an eye out for that happening in future!

Aha. Hadn't clocked that. Nicely.

I visited this pub last week, its probably the nicest in Bromley, loved the decor and the staff were really friendly too.
Will go again for sure..

For all their faults, Antic certainly know how to run decent bars.

I went there the other day, and would probably agree with you. We were going to go to The Partridge, but there was a band playing a Dire Straits cover when we arrived, so we went to the Railway instead.

My other favourite is The Bricklayers Arms.
