Good to see Jade win through to the quarters conclusively.

Currently watching EGY v NZL. One of the girl's Kiai sounds like a little girl screaming cause her hair is getting pulled or something. Someone teach her a decent kiai pleeease!

Nice of the commentator to clarify that the official isn't checking his email when looking at his laptop during an appeal.

Leave the comedy to those that are funny please.

That was great wasn't it? Enjoyed Stamper's match too, very close that one.

how dodgy was that?! the taipei girls foot clearly flicked the welsh girl's lips

TBF there was a very similar call the other way around earlier in the thing that wasnt awarded as well.

Anyway, lets all focus on the brilliant news that if Jade Jones wins gold, North Wales will have two golds whilst that other lot will (edit, bloody Geraint Thomas) only have one. Gogs am Byth!

Great match by Jade.

Not sure what kick you guys are talking about above but if the coach didn't use his appeal card then I doubt it connected or she was holding before / during the kick (the most common reason for disallowing a head kick).

No, the Taipei coach appealed. It was inexplicably turned down despite conclusive vid evidence. Must've been holding then. The commentators seem surprised tho.

The British guy is the one who was chosen instead of Aaron Cook, the world no 1. If he loses in the quarter-final -- as he is about to -- there will be Big Questions.

Well. We'll never know how Cook would have done, but I think that goes a long way towards substantiating his complaint.

I agree. He came across like a youngster that hasn't learnt how to craft a victory. Complete contrast to Jade Jones.

He looked like a street-fighter, not a martial artist - why did they leave the other guy out then?

That's the big question! I've not followed it that closely, but all kinds of politics seem to be at the heart of it.

Some stuff got into the Olympics, other stuff didn't. They can't have every sport in there. It's just the way it turned out *shrug*

The two years running european girls juniors taekwondo champ lives round the corner from me. I predict GOLD in Rio for Chloe Aboud. Or Agnieszka Aziewicz.
