there's a rumour on Indymedia Ireland that the judge was about to direct the jury to acquit for lack of evidence, but the prosecution appealed that ruling. If the appeal is upheld, then there may be a retrial with a new jury. Otherwise, the judge will direct the jury to acquit - possibly today.

sorry I may have jumped the gun in saying they had been acquitted but I was only repeating reports that had appeared on several websites. And just got this note from the group who had forwarded me the message: "Yesterday's news was a bit premature as the prosecution have moved to appeal the ruling. In other words no formal decision will be made by the court until the appeal has been heard."
