Do you definitely want to be in the hills? The Llŷn peninsula is lovely and somewhere like Criccieth would be very convenient for Snowdonia plus you've got the sea and beach.

Not exactly roughing it but fairly outdoorsy; spent Storm Brian in a yurt just south of Snowdonia National Park. Pretty hectic outside for a few days; toasty as you like indoors.

Annie's Deluxe large ensuite Mongolian yurt - AIR - Yurts for Rent in Cemmaes, Wales, United Kingdom

There's 3 yurts there; the best one's furthest from where you park your car - at the top of the hill - it's the only yurt with a (gas fired, hot water) shower

You want some yurt action, mod

Various places on the Llyn spring to mind.

Abersoch, Criccieth etc and similar on the northern coast. (There's a good pub on a beach - the Ty Coch)

I went to Festival 6 too! Wish I'd had more time to stay on and enjoy the area, it's beautiful! Where did you end up?
