Soldier's mother Cindy Sheehan in Bush protest

Bernie Gunther said:
Here's another laugh. The pro-war counter-demonstrators in Crawford, frustrated and hot, have already started brawling amongst themselves.

I heard some protest warriors got attacked by people from their own side. Apparently the attackers only saw the top part of their sign and lashed out at them. :D

I'll need to find the article.

Apols if this has already been posted but I thought it was funny.

At the pro-Bush rally, there were some heated moments when two members of Protest Warrior, a group that frequently holds counter-protests to anti-war rallies, walked in with a sign reading "Say No to War -- Unless a Democrat is President."

Many Bush supporters only saw the top of the sign and believed the men were war protesters, so they began shouting and chasing the pair out. One man tore up their signs

But apparently the assailants realised their mistake and kissed and made up.

And in the comments below on that link there I found this description which really does remind me of someone...

“Pseudoconservativism is among other things a disorder in relation to authority, characterized by an inability to find other modes for human relationship than those of more or less complete domination or submission … The pseudo-conservative is a man who, in the name of upholding traditional American values and institutions and defending them against more or less fictitious dangers, consciously or unconsciously aims at their abolition … [He] sees his own country as being so weak that it is constantly about to fall victim to subversion; and yet he feels that it is so all-powerful that any failure it may experience in getting its way in the world … cannot possibly be due to its limitations but must be attributed to its having been betrayed.”
–Richard Hofstadter, The Paranoid Style in American Politics and Other Essays, 1965.

Get with the program, even the commies at moveon.org are trying to ditance themselves for Cindy.

And how is support for the war going these days?

The Swift Boating of Cindy Sheehan

New York Times said:
Once Ms. Sheehan could no longer be ignored, the Swift Boating began. Character assassination is the Karl Rove tactic of choice, eagerly mimicked by his media surrogates, whenever the White House is confronted by a critic who challenges it on matters of war. The Swift Boating is especially vicious if the critic has more battle scars than a president who connived to serve stateside and a vice president who had "other priorities" during Vietnam.

The most prominent smear victims have been Bush political opponents with heroic Vietnam résumés: John McCain, Max Cleland, John Kerry. But the list of past targets stretches from the former counterterrorism czar Richard Clarke to Specialist Thomas Wilson, the grunt who publicly challenged Donald Rumsfeld about inadequately armored vehicles last December. The assault on the whistle-blower Joseph Wilson - the diplomat described by the first President Bush as "courageous" and "a true American hero" for confronting Saddam to save American hostages in 1991 - was so toxic it may yet send its perpetrators to jail.

True to form, the attack on Cindy Sheehan surfaced early on Fox News, where she was immediately labeled a "crackpot" by Fred Barnes. The right-wing blogosphere quickly spread tales of her divorce, her angry Republican in-laws, her supposed political flip-flops, her incendiary sloganeering and her association with known ticket-stub-carrying attendees of "Fahrenheit 9/11." Rush Limbaugh went so far as to declare that Ms. Sheehan's "story is nothing more than forged documents - there's nothing about it that's real."

The public knows that what matters this time is Casey Sheehan's story, not the mother who symbolizes it. Cindy Sheehan's bashers, you'll notice, almost never tell her son's story. They are afraid to go there because this young man's life and death encapsulate not just the noble intentions of those who went to fight this war but also the hubris, incompetence and recklessness of those who gave the marching orders.http://www.nytimes.com

Mark Elf, of Jews Sans Frontieres, an Jewish anti-Zionist blog, says this:
"so the generalised smears haven't been working. So now what? Have you guessed? Accuse her of anti-semitism that's what."

Rather badly since you ask! 57% disapprove of the way George W. Bush is handling the situation according to this poll. 61% think it was "Not Worth It". I've seen other polls asking slightly different questions with figures over 80%.
