slight system overdrive
Given the dogs/bag searches at Strawberry Fair as well I wonder if there's been some kind of national decision to clamp down on festivals? If so, why now I wonder?
i dunno, police in hackney used to get him once a week, he was a guaranteed statistic.Lisarocket said:Bet they dont search bloody Doherty on his way in though...

Part of the great UK lock-down.Brainaddict said:Given the dogs/bag searches at Strawberry Fair as well I wonder if there's been some kind of national decision to clamp down on festivals? If so, why now I wonder?
nino_savatte said:Well, it was to be expected, given the media's anti-drugs (well, anti-cannabis/reefer madness) backlash. What is the point of going to a festival and spending the entire time there drug-free?
Fekkin killjoy coppers...who will all be pocketing the best of the drugs for themselves.

Fruitloop said:Exactly. It'd be like camping but without the peace and quiet - a totally inexplicable pastime.

I just walked past and didn't get stopped - they were picking people out for bag searches and presumably I looked innocent. The dog was either not sniffing for weed or had a cold that day. Didn't say they were effective, just that they were thereSubZeroCat said:How did you get past the dogs and stuff at SF btw?
Presumably the solution to that would be to make it clear to the relevant people that - as a general point - shitting in playgrounds is considered unacceptable behaviour, rather than blaming the festival itselfRelahni said:dunnow - but on a local basis. That Cuban festival caused problems round my area.
Many festival goers were shitting in the local play group - play ground! wtf is that about??

SubZeroCat said:Me too !! (with a ridiculous amount of drugs of course )

Anyway - surely sticking spikes to horses heads should be looked at by the SPCA?

I went to Lowlands a few years ago Onket and was probably one of those people on the thread you mention! The acts and the organisation were good, but it just didn't have any atmosphere at all. People really kept themselves to themselves and there was no signs of any random behaviour or camp site shenanigans. - maybe we're spoiled with UK festies?

Yeah -- it was always family friendly -- more so before the dance area really took off a four or five years back -- got a bit rough -- the dance was more chilled before the early 00s -- so more police, more lock down now.ATOMIC SUPLEX said:I played at Ashton Court about 16 years ago and it was already family friendly then as far as I could see.
The band van was also emptyed and seached for drugs by sniffer dogs, we aslo had our clothes checked.
