Thinking of booking flights to Ljubljana next spring. We would only have 5 days of activity, but thinking of doing a bit of the Julian Alps way (Juliana Way) in that time. Anyone been up that way?
Not to hike so no use to you at all but camped and driven around there and a lot of northern Slovenia and it's one of my favourite places in Europe. Stunning mountains.
I'm following with interest because we're thinking of going next year too but taking a couple of weeks. Planning on driving and stopping a couple of times along the way.

I drove to Croatia (Split) from west Wales. We liked Slovenia so much we stopped at the same place on the way back. Found a brilliant campsite run communally where a bunch of hunters, and the chief of the local police who looked about 12, got us extremely pissed and then laid on a medieval type banquet the next day. All in the mountains.
Did a 2 or 3 day hike from Lake Bohinj into Triglav National Park then over to the Soca river near Trenta & following the river south for a day. Wild camped & loved it but it was about 30 years ago.
Slovenia is amazing and almost entirely forested you’ll have a great time. Try and find an osmica/osmiza to eat in (cheap inns run by locals for locals)
I did a semi-circle route over a week from Lake Bohinj finishing with the ascent of Triglav and a beautiful descent into a northern valley on the last day.
It's all amazing round there, pick some huts to stay in and have a great time. I think we must've stayed here as it's half way round.
On the last morning I was floating in Lake Bled on a sunny day thinking why am I going home ?
