Should the Lambeth Country Show always take place in September now?

When's the best time for the Lambeth Country Show?

I spoke to quite a few people today and they all seemed to be of the opinion that the show is better taking place in September rather than July. I tend to agree.

What do you think?

September makes sense

Should have a couple of music tents too...

There may be some kind of farming calendar reason for the date (that is no longer relevant)??

I don't know, it was a bit fortuitous that the weather was so nice this weekend and was pants in July. You can't guarantee that every year.

Was colder this weekend, but that's not to say July would be warm and dry.

Also seemed busier which I didn't really like. Maybe because kids are back at school? Better without kids. I might get to see the owls and ferrets :D

It should go back to July so there is no chance of it being on any time I come down ;) I like going to Brockwell Park but I don't fancy it when there are shiteloads of people there :D

I hope you all had a lovely time :)

I enjoyed the weather this weekend but thought it was busier than usual and prefer the later closing of July.

Also, it's usually first weekend after schools shut for summer so I am soooooo ready for it then.

That being said, it was nice, this year, to have it to look forward to after the olympic comedown.

I liked the feel of it this year, but it felt like it finished too early both days & that's the clincher for me.

Early September usually has a few things on going on already - like the Thames Festival (which I didn't bother with this year) and I've just realised I completely forgot to go and see Kind Hearts & Coronets which was showing at Nunhead Cemetery on Friday night...

Lambeth have already published the dates for next July, so it doesn't look like it's changing.

It does seem that rubbish summers are here to stay for a while... the last three years have seen good springs and autumns though.
I do agree that closing time was much too early though... perhaps there should be one area allowed to go on a bit later - main stage and surrounding bars / cafes perhaps, with lighting.

I was going to say you'd have to light the way out of the park too but they don't on bonfire night.
