San Antonio, Ibiza?

Hellhole or undeserving of it's reputation?

Am looking for a late deal for end Sept and Mr Miggins would like to go to Ibiza but all the deals are to San Antonio. I'm not sure whether the place is all right or full of drunken brits. Anyone know?

Haven't been since 2001 but it's not as bad as people make out, that is if you go out of the west end and to the clubs or to the beach and drink at Cafe Mambo, Space etc.

If you walk down to the West End and go to the bars it will like you're in Dagenham on a friday night a bit.

Stay away from the main strip (do they call it the west end still?) and you'll be fine, the "uncovered" shows on Sky do give it a bit of a bad rep, and the strip can be a bit like any town centre on a saturday night, but Mambo and cafe del mar are both in san antonio, and (were) nice places for a night out not on the piss.

There aren't any deals at Playa den Bosa or Ibiza town? Find that quite surprising...

SA's alright at the end of the season - pretty much everyone clubwise has packed up and gone by this point so the number of seriously pissed revellers has dropped.

Best avoided in my experience. The west end is full of lagered up teens and club promoters offering free shots of sambuca to get into clubs called 'Strikers' and so forth...

Ibiza town on the other hand is lovely. As I'm sure most of the rest of the island is.

I went to Ibiza years ago and stayed in Santa Elauria (?) and it was lovely.

Ive found some apartments in Cala de Bou that look reasonable...seems to be out of the San Antonio itself so could be nice. Near Xinxo beach. Anyone know?

We won't be going til last week of September so that's encouraging! Mind you, Mr M only wants to go there so we can have a big night out...I guess all the big clubs will be done by then?

My friend has just come back from Ibiza from a summer of working there, the closing parties are mostly done and according to him most people are heading home now, or are already gone. It will much quieter than it was.

I have just got back, stay in San An Bay then catch the water taxi accross it runs every 30 mins and you loand right in San An, the bay is cool cheaper and out of the way .....
