Apologies if this has been posted elsewhere.
As a frequent user of Royal Mail, I bulk purchase stamps just before each price rise. Have just done so, but when I compared next prices (october) to current (April), i was very surprised to see virtually the only price increases have been to domestic first class post:,around 20% for everything up to 250g. But no increase at all for second class up to 2kg. Nor any overseas increase.
I mention this because it is clearly a strategy to kill 1st class letters, then once that is done they will ramp up second even more. Neatly, a decline in first class letters will be used as ‘evidence’ that the service needs to go.
This all may be blindingly obvious but interesting I have not noticed this on anybodys agenda apart of course from the unions.
