Bit gutted as the ferry is the only river crossing (of those generally open to the public) between Dartford and Kingston that I have never used. Whatever the new boats are like they won't be the same.

Not a bad looking craft I have to say , but the old ships will be missed ....that basic accommodation with rivets etc .....(when I was Operations Manager for North London Railways , I used to go out and about "off hours" all over and sometimes went to North Woolwich to "show the flag" , and sometimes had a quick return trip on the ferry and talk to the operators. We were after all , even with a cr+P service , some sort of integrated transport. Always went down well I have to say..
bummer used to ride the old ones when i was a kid in the 70s, it was fun watching all the lorries load and was really important before the Dartford bridge and 2nd tunnel got built. Me and my mates used to get some chips and ride ocross about three times for a laugh.
