I was very sad today to read of Nick Page's death (only 60 ) -- I was a major fan of TransGlobal way back, and I saw them live many times, whether at festivals (Glastonbury/WOMAD, at least twice or three times altogether! ) or on at least one occasion, live at Whirl-y-Gig!
Later, my brother alerted me to his (post-TransGlobal) Dub Collosus work, which I found cool as fuck
Here is the Guardian obituary -- Robin Denselow is clearly a friend and a fan, but it's a fascinating read IMO
This bit, in the above obituary, looks like Nick Page's mission staement :

Nick Page said:As co-founder in 1990 of the musical collective Transglobal Underground, blending live and programmed music with influences from Asia, Jamaica, and Africa, Nick set out, he said, “to attract an audience who wanted to dance – but not to techno”.
