RIP Andy Fletcher - Depeche Mode

I've just sold a Depeche Mode LP on eBay. It would probably go for double the price now.

As far as I understand, Fletch was the arch capitalist within DM, so I think he would feel for me.

I listened to DM at school, college, university. Depeche Mode on the radio. Depeche tapes copied from friends.

Then I got my first proper job and spent so many hours stuck on motorways with Depeche Mode on the car stereo cassette.

Then I got married, moved house. I have Depeche Mode CDs that remind me of all of that.

Then... proper career! Relocated, we moved down south. Depeche Mode on MTV. Reminds me of all of that.

Life happens. Big life events. And more Depeche Mode CDs remind me of all of that.

So many memories. So many emotions.

:(

This is a nice tribute to Fletch. He seemed like the best type of pop ‘star’: down to earth, not up his own arse, retained his decency and sense of perspective and appreciative of fans and the life:

just wanted to share my own depechemode appreciation, totally remember whole dancefloors of people line dancing to personal jesus, enjoy the silence was also all i really knew of em, when i used to go to this club called the assylum in dayton ohio circa 95. now i know my favorites by them are their lesser known tracks.
