Return of the red flags?

400px-1967_Hongqi_Limousine.jpg

A design classic, and not nicked off some other car company like the other early ones.

The only reason to carry a flag is to use the pole as a makeshift pike in the event of police horses charging at people.

Please confirm that is a joke!

No, I'm afraid coppers on horseback really do charge at crowds of people from time to time.

The idea with the flagpole is not to harm the horse, but to convince the horse that it would rather not go where it's piggy master is sending it but would rather toss said pig onto the tarmac and head for the hills instead.

e2a: It is of course ethically valid to use your pike to attempt to hurt the police themelves, as they started it and what with the horses and all they're clearly not playing fair. It may not be strategically valid however, as an image of 250lbs of prime doughnut-fed bacon speared on the end of a pole with you at the other end may be harmful to your cause.

I would like to point out to the casual observer that I've seen NO ONE using flags on horses....and nor should we jest about that. Lumping coppers with them on the other hand....
