Lewis also hosted radio shows in the 1990s and 2000, including “The Ramsey Lewis Morning Show," on WNUA-FM and the syndicated “Legends of Jazz with Ramsey Lewis.” In 2007, he hosted “Legends of Jazz with Ramsey Lewis,” a weekly program that aired on public television stations nationwide. The show’s creators said it was the first time jazz was featured on a weekly basis on network television in 40 years. It featured jazz greats and up-and-comers.

Very sorry to hear this. I actually caught the end of his radio show on WDCB Chicago last Sunday.
You can hear the last two episodes here.

Love the mid 60s stuff with the original trio but I'm also very fond of the late 60s stuff produced by Charles Stepney.

Got a copy of Tobacco Road packed away somewhere too, which I used to enjoy.

Just saw this. One of those 'didn't think he was still around' ones.

I always keep a copy of 'Barefoot Sunday Blues' in the car to calm me down if I've had a shit day at work. Hasn't failed yet.

RIP Ramsey.

I think if you had to define his style he was basically a groover ....some very commercial moments in the catalogue but many sweet and sumblime roll outs
