It says, for example, that Holborn will be 'busier then usual'. It's pretty bloody busy already so that's one to avoid. Waterloo is going to be nutty on the sailing days. Brixton appears to be spared significant disruption but Victoria is going to be even worse, so thus being promoted from a mere Nightmare to an actual Circle of Hell.

I'm coming in the from the east so will generally be going in the opposite direction to the visitors so don't think it's going to be that bad.

How about you? Are you going to be screwed? Exactly how many people are coming!? I can't get my noggin around it all : confused:

TFL has loads of stations showing waits longer than half an hour to get on a train (unless all the Londoners walk).

Forgot to post it... where is it... ah, all the charts are in the link above.

So who's going to guard the station entrances to keep people out?

My work has been told that at some central stations they are anticipating people will have to wait up to 30 minutes TO GET ON A TRAIN at busy times.

No: more than 30 minutes.

For example, Holborn (with dates :) ):

I tend to get buses from Hackney to Camden and back, hoping that won't be too problematical

I'm just going to do 7am-3pm shift, Victoria Line. Doubt it'll be that bad, if it is, can cover from home or via iPad remote desktop.

I suppose the places that are already bad are going to be a million times worse (Victoria, Holborn) and other places are going to be overrun but for one time only, for one event?

27 July - 12 August.

It's going to be mental. Luckily, I won't have to commute.

Luckily I will be away for most of it. I'm not coming to London though - my train gets into Stratford International

marty - I think there's going to be a fair few road closures in central London so presume traffic will be diverted round the edges?

I think I should be okay apart from on the rowing days when the Head, Slough and Paddington will probably be bad. But I should be going into London when everyone is going out and vice versa so I hope that will make things a bit easier

I'm expecting delays - not sure if I will be working here come the Olympics - talk of redeployment or redundancy atm

That's what I'm basing my blaséness on too :D

I have a gloomy feeling it won't be as neat as that.

Where are people going to do that waiting-for-more-than-half-an-hour? I see stations being closed for overcrowding - and that means both ways, doesn't it?

On the basis of those projections, if I worked for TfL I'd be bricking it.

I find Victoria a bit scary when it's mad busy. I mean - the gates, the siren, the crowds - it's intimidating and it's twice a day, every weekday. Oxford Circus is the same. So what the fucking fuck is it going to be like during the Games? :(

I had the entire Olympics off last time as I was between jobs - but there were no transport issues last time

I haven't decided, but the grand dream is to amble round London soaking up the Olympic atmosphere while completely avoiding any stress.

I'm likely to be far less smug by the end of the games.

No plan to the ambling? :)

We thought we might picnic along the Regent's Canal and people watch  Some bits of it bake with hot hazy sunshine and a silence broken only by buzzing insects and distant sirens. It's dreamy :)

My mum's volunteering at the Excel, so I'm going to go have lunch with her, but aside from that I don't know. Will have to look at what's going on, see if there's anything particularly interesting. Thought there might be something akin to 'Fanzones' like at the football World Cup, but haven're really looked into any of it.

Picnic along Regent's Canal sounds like a good one though, if the weather's nic eyou should have a lovely time.
