Protest against Cost of Living Sat 12th Feb 1pm

They’re a pressure group that aim to encourage the Labour Party to be more forthright in opposing “austerity”. Formed when Milliband was seen as too feeble, and went into abeyance when Corbyn came along.

I imagine they’re now more interested in criticising Starmer than Sunak.

Cheers. Well that’s not too bad, any port in a storm and all that.

As I understand it, the People's Assembly is the brainchild of the Rees/German lot who left the SWP back in 2010, although it's also the case that they really don't have the numbers to be able to try and dominate stuff in the way that the proper SWP would.

Confusingly, it seems like there's a Leeds one not included on that list, that seems to be organised by Leeds AFN:

By coincidence (or the great god of computers), I ran across this today:

No one should have to choose between being warm and eating.

Fwiw, People's Assembly are doing another day of local events around cost of living stuff this weekend:

They've also started to mention the RMT/P&O stuff more in the branding for it:

Dunno if RMT's actually got much involvement in organising or promoting it though.
