several years ago i read there were more filling stations in britain in 1914 than there are now :eek:

and the ones we have now are almost all less attractive than the ones you've posted, editor
 
Beautiful photos.

Most of central Asmara is built in the style of that petrol station, an amazing example of fascist architecture and urban planning.
 
I particularly like the Art Deco, Streamline Moderne, Googie and Brutalist designs.
