Does Peterborough count as the "South East"?

I've been thinking of taking a day drip there some time in the future.

What's it like? Is it worth a visit?

It's 'East of England'. Unless its improved mightily in recent years really don't go. It's a fucking dreadful place.

it's not that bad, the town centre isn't shit, its just the same waterstones/h&m etc high street-clone of every other small town

The reason I asked was because I'd been looking at the Visit Peterborough website and looked like there a few places there that might be worth a visit.

It's full of swan-eating eastern Europeans and seasonal strawberry harvesters

The cathedral is worth seeing if you like that sort of thing. It's alright as a place, was the nearest city to where I grew up so I don't tend to go now. There's a great comic shop there, or there was in 1989.
