Pele moved to palliative care

Apparrently Pele has been moved to palliative care after his chemotheraphy stopped working and his cancer had spread.

The only footballer to have won three world cups.

Brazil great Pele is "still undergoing treatment and remains stable" according to a statement from his hospital in Sao Paulo.

I was going to start a thread in this earlier but I was not sure at the time weather I should of put it in the main footie or the world cup category so left it

Very sad.

Saw him in the flesh once. Not playing. It was at the old Wembley before an exhibition match. It might have been the Football League v The Rest of the World? We arrived, wandered down the terrace, wondering why everyone was clapping. Then someone said "It's Pele, down there" and there he was. He was being interviewed, standing on the track in front of the East End of the ground, and the whole end was just standing applauding him.

My earliest football memories are the 1970 World Cup, and the glorious Brazil team that he starred in.
