OZ magazine

I experimented with a couple of OZ mags when I was a nipper back in the 80's. I thought they were a bit crap but I was a bit naiive as well. Is it worth buying a copy off ebay to see of they were all they were supposed to be or not worth the bother ?

anyone read one recently ?

yesh, they were late 60's but my dealer always had a bit of a nostalgia thing going on and I used to read them when I went across

the interview with an on the run ronnie biggs in Sun style font is a starter

there is an awful lot of grandad of the guardian style hand wringing polemic though

It does however make me want to set about hippies with a hammer

We had a complete vintage set in the cutting room of Hippie Hippie Shake..... Worth about 3 grand.

just had to access this again . fucking hell. some gems amongst the shite if you search but now I know why I have a long standing hatred of hippies

There were a few alternative magazines around in the late 60s and early 70s.

I used to buy Oz but I preferred 'International Times' because it was music, it was political and it was a bit like a fanzine. IT - International Times Archive

There was also the A3 Andy Warhol magazine, 'Interview', but it was a bit posey...
