Orphan Black is anyone else watching this?

I am. Watched the first two last night. I quite enjoyed it and will keep watching. Early opinion, Art is annoying.

I really like it, even tho the main actresses English accent is atrocious, given the nature of the show it's just about dismissible. Let's hope this show manages to finish.

Yeah, I'm enjoying it. Second season commissioned apparently- and the actress who plays the clones has won an award for the first season

I watched the first two (almost). Didn't notice it until the first episode was 20 minutes in, so am a bit lost about what happened at the beginning.

Feel free to enlighten me anybody?

Girl saw girl who looked exactly like her commit suicide by jumping in front of a train. Takes her handbag that was left on the platform. Discusses it with gay guy who lives in warehouse so we discover she has a daughter she abandoned 10 months ago, her bf is violent and so she hit him and nicked his coke. She goes to dead woman's house to see what is there and discovers she has £75k, so plans to nick it to build a new life

Woman who commits suicide (the detective yes?) has a baby she's abandoned?

They call each other clones so I don't think its too much of a giveaway.....

The woman who commits suicide was a copper. The woman who took her identity has a (5yr) child who has been living with her old foster mother for 10mths.

I had no idea BBC America had the autonomy to go co-producing stuff with the Canadians. I had assumed it was a core BBC production with both eyes on the international market.

I'm liking it so far.

Excellent episodes to finish - watched the last 4 today.

Something didn't quite tie up though:
Why did Sarah's foster mother bring in her real mother, only for her real mother to warn her about her foster mother? That's still foxing me.

I watched the first episode and half of the second episode. Shit. It reminded me of some kind of 1980's saturday teatime bullshit like Tripods. Not in terms of plot but in terms of wankness.

Tripods was excellent. :p
It had one of the worst endings ever, though: Two seasons of "look, we're trying to build an epic story here", only for the last episode to end with, "- oh no! so it was all for nothing?" (I expect that more seasons were pitched but never made though, but for the people who never read the books, it's a pretty shit ending and it looked like they failed the whole goddamn quest... bah.)

Loved the city of flying laser pyramids or whatever it was though... Very Tron style graphics. I loved the design of the aliens, with the swirling op-art eye... (They looked a little bit like the dribbling aliens in the Simpsons [Kang and Kodos] actually, only without the mouth- but I'm sure that's pure coincidence.)

Re: the OP, I just started watching Orphan Black and:
1) weird accents!,
2) the main character's foster brother is apparently an ex-orphan/foster kid with no fixed income except some drug dealing on the side, yet still lives in a massive 1990s era/Friends-style loft with loads of fancy accessories/furniture and lamps and stuff (albeit with 'cool' graffitied surfaces everywhere), and seems to do nothing except paint and party all day- wtf? Pre-2008 I wouldn't have had that much of a problem with it as that's what it was always like on TV, but now it's a bit lol to think anyone would find that realistic! :D :hmm:

Very unusual concept, and I'll definitely watch all the episodes just to see what they do with it, though.
