Open source raw processors? Any opinions?

Hi, It is time for me to properly use my raws rather than just converting them directly to jpgs ..

I am using GIMP, which I like, but it won't input my raw files.

Nikon offers some free software but I don't even want to be tied to Nikon.

So I am looking at the moment at:

Darktable

Raw Therapee

UFRaw

Anyone have any experience with these let me know please !!

RawTherapee Plugin & Lightroom though rather than darktable. ​

I have been watching some video tutorials on Darktable, it seems quite capable.

I might download it and give it a try.
