To back up some of Dubs points, Stig and I went because we knew it would be different from some of your normal squat dos, we knew some sound people were involved, we knew we were likely to see a few people from the old school festie/activist scene that don't normally show up at your average squat do, also the Inner Terrestrials and Fil Planet etc., don't normally plan to play yer average squat do.
The plan was a bit different from how it turned out, but that was hard to avoid in the circumstances.

Regardless of whether or not Okupational Hazard was an "average" squat party or not, whatever people might have been expecting in terms of atmosphere or whatever, surely no-one was under the impression that there wasn't going to be a lot of people taking drugs, drinking a lot, loud music etc - that's a very unpredictable and potentially unsafe environment, not one I feel comfortable seeing small children exposed too. If there had been a kids' space advertised then fair enough to bring kids, but as far as I know there wasn't.
Due to the fact that i have been very ill since the party due to the shere stress i have been under since undertaking this event i have not been able (mentaly) to come on line and put forward any views about the weekend and have not read through all the threads that have been posted but i would just like to say a few things.....
first of thank you for everyone who attended your surport was greatly recieved and aganst all odds i hope that most people had a great time...
as someone who was involved in this from the start i can tell you that unlike other years we had SOOOO many problems putting on this party and there was many things that we wanted to do whitch in the end did not happen due in most part to the fact that we had so many problems with buildings that in the end we had to muddle through with what we ended up with and i pat everyone on the back who helped out on saterday as you would not believe what we had to do to that building to get it anywhere near what was needed.
We also got a massive turn out of people... more than anyother year that we have done this (the other squat do getting busted did not help) whitch did put a diffrent spin on the "vibe" of the party but saying this i still felt that it still had a very diffrent feel to most every weekend partys that are put on in london these days.
As for kidz spaces in partys it is doable as we have done it before but it is very difficalt and personaly i dont like the idea of kidz being at these sort of events but i also understand that there are many people that like to come along and have that sort of facilaty avalable and if you have a dedicated space whitch is monitard all night away from the main hussle and busslte it can work out great.
Saying all of this my head hurts and im going back to bed but i hope this has adressed some issues that have been rased and that we will be able to put on more pro active events in the future for everyones enjoyment i just get a kick out of seeing loads of happy faces and people enjoying themselfs and knowing that ii had a small part to play in making people smile.
