I know what you mean, it does feel like this weeks taking so bloody long! And then when the world cups around it'll go so quickly.

Ah well, fwiw my predictions are
South Africa 0-2 Mexico
Mexico are a decent team, SA are not and home advantage aint going to change that.
Uruguay 1-0 France
France are shit, they only qualified through cheating, their manager is a maniac and all the squad seem to be arguing. They are there for the taking if you ask me.

Isnt the opening game of the tournement always the second worst game
I can definitely see the South Africa game going over 3.5 goals.
I think SA will get a lot of lucky decisions during the tournament
so the game could go either way, and it wouldn't surprise me to see the game finish 3-2 to either side or a 2-2 draw. No doubt it will finish 0-0 now. France are very poor under Domenach, Uruguay are no pushovers and if they can keep all eleven men on the pitch for 90 mins are well capable of nicking the tie.

You're right of course, it usually is.
However, Mexico are pretty good going forward and I can't see them being too cautious in what they would see as a winnable game. SA with the home crowd behind them (and that little bit of luck that the host nation usually receive) will score I'm sure.
We're well overdue a opening game goalfest I feel.

I can see SA getting a lucky penalty and goiing 1-0 up then losing 2-1, but 3-3 is abit of stretch mate!

Yes.
Serbia could be worth a look too but it's Uruguay I'm looking to to bring some WWE-style antics to the tournament.
And if Algeria get into the mindset that every opponent is Egypt in disguise they'll be worth keeping an eye on.
Hopefully most of Serbia's players will be suspended by the time we meet them in the next round.
