The Suzerainty of the Toque.
Which European is telling the US how to vote here?
In this case a very small group of people who have, in my opinion, made the this into a political issue.
you are our bastard child, should we just leave you to it? Last time we did you scamps dropped a few Nukes on Japan. No, you need a conscience and we are here to nag you into having one.
but how are they telling you how to vote when he's already been elected?
Dumbass
There is always an election around the corner in America Einstein.
That is a lot of posts you have there.

right.
You're full of shit, aren't you?
I think you're often dead on with your all america all the time analysis, but I don't think it fits this one.
Obama's Presidency could turn out to be a disaster. He could make a wrong move and be responsible for millions of deaths, God forbid. Besides being politicized its also naive in my opinion to give him this award.
I think someone who does work on the ground and really saves lives should win this award. Someone who brings fresh drinking water to Africa for instance. Or someone who shelters persecuted people at the risk of their own lives. There are must be many examples we can find.
Maybe someday he would deserve such a prize buts its very premature right now.
This is such a joke. The American people will not be influenced by a group of European elites telling us who we should pick for our presidents.
Carter, Gore and now Obama Why such a love for the US democratic party?
You all are so fascinated by America.
All America all the time.

I can't remember, and I'm on my mobile so can't Google, did Blair get one for Northern Ireland?
I really would *love* to have been a fly on the wall in the Blair household when they heard the news about Obama winning a Nobel Peace Prize.hume and trimble got one
A lot of people will agree with you on this, but the Nobel Peace Prize committee like to think that by conferring an award on somebody who has the power to do some good for world peace they are influencing the future.
Perhaps there should be two Nobel Prizes one for actual achievements and another one for possible future achievements.
But pre-emptive prize-giving is a very weird idea if you think about it. Perhaps the name of the award needs to change?
What would be a good new name for the Nobel Peace Prize?
Can't Bill Clinton get one of these rewards as well?
I know most of the above have posted with good intentions alas all have missed the real point of the award to Mr. Obama.
Minnie, my CIA mole, informs me that the only reason they gave him the award was to get him to visit Norway. The Norwegians were pissed off he visited Denmark - their arch enemy. Also the fact he has visited lots of other European states but missed out Norway. They had thought of inviting him to inspect their fish stock and maybe have a look at their pipelines but they knew this wouldn't work. And so they came up with the ruse of giving him the Nobel. Not only would he be there for quite a while but would also make a better speech than he did in Denmark. After all, had he been invited to make a speech about smoked salmon there wouldn't be much to say and it wouldn't have garnered the attention of the world press.
So now you know, thanks to Minnie.

You have a point there. In essence this is an overblown and unimportant award from an overblown and unimportant country.
