Nurses Strike

I was the convenor of a group of hospital shop stewards in the mid-70's.
Because we were most unwilling to put our patients at risk we formulated
a series of "imaginative actions" by way of protest: ward occupations, occupying
admin centres, combining action with patient visitors, differing ways of
issuing information, imaginative press releases,.....
"Freedom" printed a 12 page insert which was widely distributed among
striking London hospital workers.

Can you give a few more details about the dispute and what the result was ?

And, what's your point caller?

I am disgusted that nurses and other health workers are being forced to strike. They deserve to be given more respect and rewarded accordingly.

I sent my ballot off to strike week before last and yesterday my trust CEO notified us that we had met the conditions in order to carry out strike action.

It will effect the elective surgery lists.
The hospital where my daughter and (effectively) daughter-in-law both work has also voted for strike action according to Middle Q however given the first is in A&E and the second in the ICU I suspect they themselves won't.
Middle reckons she will be there with her banner during her free time though.
