Help Mobile Phone Choice - with keyboard(?)

So I have a Blackberry Bold 9900 on Orange that runs out of contract at the end of Feb and a Samsung Galaxy mini III, on O2 that runs out of contract mid May.

The Bold screen is smashed but just about usuable, but Orange don't do Blackberries anymore. In theory, I can just kill that at the end of the contract and then use the Samsung, but I think I need a keyboard. I send about 200 emails a day from the BB.

Any phone experts want to recommend another phone with a keyboard, or convince me I'll get used to a touchscreen for long emails on the move....

SwiftKey makes typing long emails much easier - give it a try sometime before ruling it out.

The best keyboard phone I know of is a Sony Ericsson Xperia Pro, but it's pretty old now. I loved mine.

If I sent 200 emails a day from a phone I'd invest in a portable/bluetooth keyboard. It'd be much nicer to use than a Blackberry keyboard and would mean you have a lot more freedom to choose which phone to get.

Hmmm...I'll have a look. Though not practical, on beach/changing nappies etc....

I've got a solar powered Logitech one cost 30 quid. Otherwise maybe have a look at the blackberry passport. Where you can get that on a contract, I don't know.

Blackberry Q5, Q10 or Classic. Best phone for emailing and texting with the possibility to use Android apps too if you so wish. Use a Q5 myself, the cheapest, lightest and with the best keypad of the bunch in my opinion.

I am also very happy with my Q5. It is a smaller screen so if you really want to run lots of Android apps it's not the greatest but Candy Crush is still playable lol. And if you're used to the Blackberry keyboard and two thumb typing style it really is the best. I email constantly and when I've tried a touch screen I've found it incredibly difficult and much slower.

Another thing about modern Blackberry phones compared to a Bold is that you don't need to pay extra for the email business as one had to do with OS6, OS7 etc. Blackberry OS10 just does the email like any other phone.

Just cut your Orange SIM to size and away you go.

Better than any other phone if you ask me. Apps to the right, messaging centre to the left. No need to load an app or anything, accounts sorted neatly or all together as you wish.

Typing this with swift key on Samsung to try out....
