I don't really follow darts, but this story has been quite interesting and tuned in tonight. He's made it to the semis at the age of 16 with many people on the news/social sites questioning his age. Have you ever met a 16yo who looks like this?

I've subtitled quite a lot of darts matches, including a youth world cup of some sort, and all the young darts players look like lorry drivers with three kids, an ex-wife called Sandra and a current GF who's trying to get them to kick the fags for new year. There aren't many young female darts players but they also look exactly like that.

Nothing wrong with being that type of person, but it's bizarre that it seems to magically happen if you throw too many 180s.

I watched the litner barnevald match the other night with my 16 year old daughter and she pointed out that there are two lads in her form that are big and bearded like this fella. So it's not that odd for a 16yo to look like that.

I tried to grow a beard once in my late 20s and it was so pithy and inconsistent I never attempted it ever again. My genes are just not designed for it.

It's not just the beard, it's the whole package which looks like he should be behind the bar serving pints in my local.

Total credit to the boy/man though. They had some footage of him on the news of him in nappies as an 18 month year old (with no beard) throwing better darts than me and I'm in my 40s.

If he appears to be in his 40s at 16 yrs old, how might he appear in 30yrs time when he is in mid 40s? Dart throwers are often drink fuelled and rotund, so, assuming his extraordinary skill will keep him at the top until then, it is unlikely that he will get any Littler. The guys health is likely to be under serious threat after 30 years pounding the oche. i hope he does well this week and comes top. But i want him to take care of himself.

It can be difficult for people like him in that they are treated as adults before they're psychologically grown up. But hey, he's just won £100k. Beats doing a paper round.

That question remains open of course. i favour employment decisions that are made by a workers socialist government (with a sprinkling of anarcho sydicalists thrown in for good measure). Trouble is i have an inkling that such a project may take a wee whiley to achieve in these dark times, so it will probably all be left to Elon Musk or some other greedy cunt, so it aint gonna happen.
