LPs/albums you return to over and over

LOSE IT
I've got a few records, but I realised that I dont hardly ever play most of them, there is about a 5% of them I play a lot maybe less. It's not ones I'd necessarily have picked as best, but its ones that get played most out of what I have. It is a combination of them being good all the way through, and easy to spot on the shelf. For me it is Pavement "wowee zowee", television personalities "and dont the kids just love it", jesus lizard "liar". It would be white light white heat but that is impossible to distinguish from the spine so doesn't get on so much.

At this age in my life the ones I return to I've returned to so many times I cant return to them anymore
Very little I havent rinsed to death

Yet I never tire of King Tubby (doesnt really ever) Meet the Upsetter at the Grass Roots of Dub
In fact 70s dub LPs probably the most indestructible to overplay
lyrics and clever ideas can weather badly after 100 plays

I have a few albums that I play more than others; I probably spend 3/4 of my time listening to new music, and the rest revisiting old stuff

These are probably the most frequent I pull lit
Bunny Wailer's Blackheart Man
Manu Chao - Clandestino
The Arkology CDs set.
LTJ Bukem - Logical Progression
All the Plastikman stuff
Elevator Suite- Barefoot and Shitfaced

The ones that spring to mind as constantly on at various times (whether as tapes, records, CDs or files) would be:

The The: Infected
Blaggers ITA: United Colors Of Blaggers ITA
Richard X: Presents His X Factor Vol 1
Gunshot: Patriot Games
The Fugs: It Crawled Into My Hand, Honest
Chris T-T: London Is Sinking
Radical Dance Faction: Wasteland
Madnomad: Tamper-Evident
Mekha: Immersion LP
Ballistic Brothers: London Hooligan Soul

Definitely massively skewed towards stuff around when I was buying physical things. More recently would be home-compiled stuff, or single tracks.

The Premier League...

FSOL - Lifeforms (probably about once a week)
Japan - Quiet Life/Oil on Canvas
Spiritualised - Lazer Guided Melodies
John Coltrane - Blue Train
The Beatles - Abbey Road

The Championship...

St Germain - Tourist
Gustav Holst - The Planets
Primal Scream - Screamadelica
Wayne Shorter - Speak No Evil
Dave Brubeck - Time Out
Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here
Horace Silver - Song For My Father
Herb Alpert presents Sergio Mendez and Brazil 66

That's one I only got into around the start of lockdown, fantastically fun record though. Also, thinking about it, Misfits stuff like Walk Among Us - I don't think of them as one of my favourite bands, but I don't think I ever look at my music library and think "hmmm, I am definitely not in the mood to listen to Walk Among Us" either? I've not revisited Will Anything Happen? by the Shop Assistants in a while, but I think that's earned its place up there. Probably Fever to Tell by the Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Someone To Drive You Home by the Long Blondes should be up there too.

St Germain - Foxbase Alpha hits the sweet spot between not overplayed but I absolutely love it every time I hear it.

Tempted to say something like Depression Cherry by Beach House, but I only got into them around 2016 or so, so yeah, depends how long-term we're talking here.

I had a look through the lower reaches of the 'on the cd player today' thread, and there's quite a lot of stuff I still regularly listen to a decade on tbh.

Funhouse, Scott 4, LFO - Frequencies, that Minor Threat album, The Boy With The Arab Strap, Pye Corner Audio's Black Mill Tapes 1&2, Colossal Youth, Freaks Faggots Drunks & Junkies, Paris 1919... there's more tho

Looking at that list I have a sneaking suspicion you might also have been into Consolidated, Renegade Soundwave, Paris, AOS3, Gary Clail, Meat Beat Manifesto and Scarface/Geto Boys
