Low gas pressure on hob

Started happening a couple of days ago, have done the "do nothing & see if it magically sorts itself out" bit. It has not.

Symptoms:
* Very low pressure on all 4 burners, as if each is on the lowest possible setting all the time.
* No smells of escaping gas anywhere.
* Gas fired combi-boiler still works absolutely fine.

Thoughts? :hmm:

Gas cookers are really simple pieces of equipment so what could possibly go wrong...

Probably sign of a huge hidden gas leak and at some point shortly a huge explosion will demolish something

Have you dismantled the burners, cleaned them and tested them again? In my experience there can be a build up of detritus that needs cleaning out.

If you turn on one burner then another, does the first one reduce?

Also do you have a carbon monoxide detector?

Pick up your keys. Walk out the house. Do not turn any lights on and off. Call a professional from a safe distance.

It's probably just a valve somewhere if you can't smell gas anywhere near your property.

A friend of mine was an officer on a gas tanker. One of the crew went looking for a leak with a lighter. Blew his face off.

You used to be able to order a free safety check. That may have only been last century though.

Eta. They're liable to close off the cooker if there's anything wrong though as I recall.

Eeta. Quite rightly.
